KWEKWE General Hospital has received a major boost following the handover of proceeds from this year’s Independence Ball, as Government continues efforts to strengthen public health institutions across the country.
The Midlands-based referral hospital became the latest beneficiary of the initiative, with hospital authorities describing the support as a timely intervention that will enhance service delivery and improve patient care.
A hospital representative said the donation comes at a critical time when the institution is seeking to address key operational needs.
“The proceeds from the Independence Ball come at a critical time for our institution. This support will assist us in addressing some of our priority areas and enhance the quality of healthcare services that we provide to the people of Kwekwe and surrounding communities. We appreciate Government’s continued commitment to the health sector,” said the representative.
Members of the community also welcomed the gesture, saying it will contribute towards improving healthcare services in the district.
“We are happy to see the hospital receiving this assistance because it will help improve services. A well-equipped hospital benefits everyone in the community and ensures that patients receive better care,” said one resident.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Owen Ncube, reaffirmed Government’s commitment to ensuring public health facilities are adequately resourced.
“The Second Republic remains committed to ensuring that no one and no place is left behind. Through initiatives such as the Independence Ball proceeds, we are mobilising resources to support our health institutions and improve service delivery. We will continue working with stakeholders to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and ensure quality medical services for our people,” said Honourable Ncube.
The handover of the Independence Ball proceeds adds to ongoing Government efforts aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery systems and improving access to quality medical services across Midlands Province.
