THE Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology continues to position itself as a centre for leadership development and ideological training, with another cohort of students graduating amid calls to promote patriotism and contribute meaningfully to national development.
The latest graduates were drawn from various sectors of society, including participants based in the diaspora, reflecting the institution’s growing reach and influence.
In a speech read on his behalf during the graduation ceremony, the Principal of the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology, Cde Ishmael Mada, challenged graduates to utilise the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies to drive socio-economic transformation in their respective communities.
He urged the graduates to actively participate in national development initiatives and support the country’s aspirations under Vision 2030.
The school’s Vice Principal, Cde Colonel Ernest Dube, also emphasised the importance of ideological education in nurturing responsible citizens who are committed to national interests and sustainable development.
Graduates expressed appreciation for the training received, noting that the programme had enhanced their understanding of national development issues, leadership and civic responsibility.
The group’s leader, Cde Peacemaker Makuve, highlighted the importance of knowledge systems being imparted at the institution, saying they equip participants with a deeper appreciation of Zimbabwe’s history, heritage and development trajectory.
Named after the late nationalist leader and liberation icon, Herbert Chitepo, the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology serves as a political education institution focused on leadership development, patriotism and national consciousness. The institution was established to promote an appreciation of Zimbabwe’s liberation history, national values and developmental aspirations.
The school has over the years trained participants from various sectors and continues to play a role in programmes aimed at strengthening understanding of Zimbabwe’s heritage, governance systems and Vision 2030 development agenda.
As Zimbabwe advances towards the attainment of Vision 2030, graduates were encouraged to become ambassadors of patriotism, unity and community development in their respective spheres of influence.
