BOTSWANA President Duma Boko says Zimbabwe’s economic growth trajectory is inspiring the region and the African continent.

He made the remarks while officially opening the 66th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo this Thursday.

The trade showcase, running under the theme “Connected Economies, Competitive Industries”, has attracted more than 700 exhibitors, including 49 foreign participants from 31 countries, reflecting its growing regional and international appeal.

President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa and President Advocate Duma Boko received a warm reception as they arrived at the exhibition grounds for the official opening ceremony.

In his address, President Boko called for deeper strategic partnerships and accelerated adoption of innovation to drive industrialisation across the continent.

He said Zimbabwe’s strong growth performance demonstrates the potential for African economies to transform through value addition and industrial development.

The ZITF continues to provide a platform for Government and the private sector to engage, explore solutions to economic challenges, and unlock new investment opportunities.

Zimbabwe’s economy is on a growth path, supported by policies aimed at promoting industrialisation, enhancing productivity and creating employment.

Meanwhile, President Boko has since concluded his three-day State Visit to Zimbabwe, which also saw him co-chair the 5th Bi-National Commission with President Mnangagwa in Harare on Wednesday.

He was seen off at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport by President Mnangagwa, Vice Presidents General (Rtd) Dr Constantino Chiwenga and Colonel (Rtd) Dr Kembo Mohadi, along with Cabinet Ministers and Service Chiefs.

The visit underscored strengthening bilateral relations between Zimbabwe and Botswana, with a shared focus on trade, investment and regional economic integration.
