DEFENDING champions Scottland have turned their attention back to the Premier Soccer League following their Independence Cup success.
The league champions are set to face Dynamos in a rescheduled Matchday Eight blockbuster at Rufaro Stadium this Wednesday.
The two sides last met in the season-opening Castle Challenge Cup, where the Mabvuku-based outfit delivered a resounding 5–0 victory over the Glamour Boys.
However, Scottland head coach Norman Mapeza is not dwelling on that result, emphasising that Wednesday’s fixture presents a completely different challenge.
“We are happy to be coming into this match on the back of a win, but we know this will not be the same as the Challenge Cup. Dynamos are now more organised, they have been playing good football, and we need to be at our best to secure a positive result,” he said.
While Scottland appear to have moved on from that emphatic win, Dynamos are still motivated by the defeat and are eager to rewrite the script.
“When you are at Dynamos, you have to learn and adapt quickly. That result was a lesson for us. We have moved on and are ready to show that we are a much better side. We are prepared for the showdown,” said Dynamos coach Genesis Mangombe.
While the emerging Harare derby between Scottland and Dynamos takes centre stage, other fixtures are also lined up across the country.
Chicken Inn will take on Highlanders in a Bulawayo derby at Barbourfields Stadium, while ZPC Kariba host Bulawayo Chiefs at Nyamhunga Stadium.
