ZIMBABWE’s rugby national team, the Sables, now know their pool-stage opponents, match dates and venues for the 2027 Rugby World Cup following the release of the full tournament schedule by World Rugby.
The global showpiece will be hosted in Australia next year, marking Zimbabwe’s return to the Rugby World Cup for the first time since 1991.
Zimbabwe will begin their Pool F campaign against Wales on October 2 at the Adelaide Oval, one of Australia’s most iconic sporting venues.
The Sables will remain in Adelaide for their second group fixture, taking on England on October 8, before concluding their pool-stage matches against Tonga on October 15 at the North Queensland Stadium in Townsville.
The 2027 Rugby World Cup appearance ends a near three-decade absence for Zimbabwe on rugby’s biggest stage, with the Sables last featuring at the tournament in 1991.
Hosts Australia will kick off the tournament on October 1 with an opening match against Hong Kong in Perth, while defending champions South Africa will begin their title defence against Italy on October 3 in Adelaide.
