ZIMBABWE Warriors vice-captain Marshall Munetsi made an immediate impression in France after winning a crucial penalty, as Paris FC fought back to secure a 2-2 draw against Marseille in a Ligue 1 encounter on Saturday.

The midfielder’s contribution proved vital in a closely contested match, underlining his growing influence since joining the French top-flight side.

Munetsi was introduced as a second half substitute and played a key role late in the match, earning the penalty that allowed Paris FC to secure a vital point in their relegation battle.

The result leaves Paris FC seven points clear of the relegation play-off zone.

The 29-year-old midfielder recently joined Paris FC on a six-month loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Munetsi is no stranger to French football, having previously spent six seasons with Reims between 2019 and 2025 before his move to England during the last winter transfer window.
