ENGLAND booked their place in the Super Six stage of the ongoing ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup after a dominant performance, crushing Scotland by 252 runs in a one-sided encounter at Takashinga Cricket Club in Harare this Wednesday.

The emphatic victory saw England finish top of Group C with six points, maintaining a perfect record after winning all their group-stage matches and underlining their status as one of the tournament favourites.
Scotland’s loss has opened opportunities for Zimbabwe, who face a must-win clash against Pakistan this Thursday.

A win for the Young Chevrons could see them sneak into the Super Six as group runners-up with 3 points, but they will need a big margin to top Scotland on run rate.

Pakistan are in better form, having beaten Scotland, and is second on the standings with two points, while Zimbabwe‘s match against Scotland was abandoned, and the young chevrons lost to England by 8 wickets.
The hosts are counting on captain Simbarashe Mudzengerere, Dhruv Patel, and Kian Blignaut to turn things around.

The two sides met recently in a tri-series, which Pakistan won by 9 wickets.

In another match played this Wednesday, Afghanistan cruised to a 9 wicket win over Tanzania.

Thursday will see Ireland facing off with Japan, while the West Indies take on South Africa.
