THE ruling ZANU PF party has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing women’s economic empowerment through inclusive development programmes, with a focus on sustainable livelihoods and entrepreneurship.

In recent years, the party has introduced multiple initiatives aimed at enhancing women’s participation in the national economy. These programmes are intended to ensure that women contribute meaningfully to Zimbabwe’s growth while gaining financial independence.

Speaking during the first provincial meeting of the year in Masvingo, ZANU PF Provincial Chairperson, Cde Robson Mavhenyengwa, emphasised the central role of women in the party’s vision.

“The women’s league is the heart of the party and we have to continue empowerment so that no one is left behind in the development of the country. We want members to have sustainable businesses. 2026 the empowerment projects will even be greater,” Cde Mavhenyengwa said.

Cde Alginia Mhlanga, Women’s League Masvingo Provincial Chairperson, added that the programmes are designed to strengthen financial stability for women at grassroots level.

“This was our first meeting of the year as we map the way forward for 2026. We want to ensure that every woman has something to do to be financially stable,” ZANU PF Women’s League Masvingo Provincial Chairperson, Cde Alginia Mhlanga stated.

ZANU PF has taken a deliberate stance to expand empowerment initiatives nationwide, aiming to improve livelihoods and ensure that women are actively involved in Zimbabwe’s economic development.
