SERVICE delivery in Bindura Town has been significantly enhanced following the commissioning of a new fleet of vehicles as government continues to call for the protection of public assets and increased accountability.

The commissioning of nine new vehicles marks a major milestone in Bindura’s growth trajectory, with the additional resources expected to improve operational efficiency and service delivery across the town.

“We are ready to use these vehicles properly and efficiently to improve our work. This is an exciting event,” a municipal employee said.

“We are grateful to our President Emmerson Mnangagwa for creating an enabling environment for our council to purchase these vehicles. This will drive vision 2030,” a resident said.

Bindura Municipality is working towards transforming the mining town into a vibrant and sustainable city, with service vehicles set to improve efficiency.

“Our vision encompasses not only economic growth but also social equity and environmental sustainability,” Bindura Town Clerk, Ms Evelyn Madziire said.

“This is our Bindura, this is our contribution to the national call to action,” Bindura Mayor, Councillor Jacob Gwature said.

Mashonaland Central Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Christopher Magomo, challenged citizens across the province to be responsible and safeguard public utilities.

“This is a milestone, and it reflects the steady progress of our province, which we continue to register. As we commission these vehicles, let’s reaffirm to build a prosperous Bindura and resilient Mashonaland Central province in fulfilment of Vision 2030 led by our torchbearer, President Emmerson Mnangagwa,” he said.

Last month, the Government gazetted Minimum Service Delivery Standards for local authorities under Statutory Instrument 170 of 2025 to ensure councils meet the 2030 targets when the country is expected to attain an upper-middle-income society status.
