THE integration of military forces has been identified as a key driver in promoting Pan-African values and strengthening bonds between armed forces across the continent.
On Wednesday, 28 students from the security sector, including four from allied nations, graduated with certificates in various disciplines at Manyame Air Force Base.
Minister of Defence, Honourable Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, represented by her deputy, Brigadier General (Retired) Levi Mayihlome, underscored the importance of regional and international military cooperation.
“Programmes and joint training courses are critical, offering platforms for military personnel to share expertise and learn from one another. Integrating Pan-African values with modern operational strategies enriches military practice and strengthens the unity of African forces under a shared vision. The Air Force of Zimbabwe remains committed to military exchange programmes within the region and beyond. The presence of our brothers from SADC has greatly enriched this training, broadening our understanding and deepening solidarity across the region,” she said.
The Overall Best Student was Air Lieutenant Alois Nyamanga, while Major Madalisto Mumba of Zambia, the Best Allied Student, praised the AFZ and the entire ZDF for the opportunity to enhance regional collaboration.
“The knowledge we gained from this course will greatly enhance our ability to work together seamlessly as part of the SADC security forces,” he said.
The graduation ceremony took place as the government continues strengthening the welfare of public servants through improved housing access and ongoing skills development initiatives.
