ZANU PF Mashonaland West Province, on Sunday, convened its Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting in Chinhoyi, focusing on strategies to implement resolutions adopted at the party’s National People’s Conference.
The meeting brought together senior party officials, who underscored the need for unity, discipline and productivity.
Guest speaker and Central Committee member, Dr Kuda Tagwirei, took time to unpack the successes of the land tenure programme, describing it as a cornerstone for agricultural transformation, investor confidence and long-term land security for beneficiaries.
“As a nation, we have come a long way in securing our land and ensuring that every farmer has confidence in their investment. The land tenure programme is giving farmers the security they need to plan long term, to attract financing, and to improve productivity. We are already seeing success stories across provinces, and Mashonaland West is no exception. What we want now is the full utilisation of every hectare so that the land continues to feed families and drive our economy forward,” he said.
Provincial Chairperson Cde Mary Mliswa commended Mashonaland West delegates for maintaining discipline and unity during the National People’s Conference, saying such conduct demonstrated maturity and strengthened the party’s organisational capacity.
“As Mashonaland West, we are proud of the high level of discipline you exhibited at the National People’s Conference. Your conduct showed unity, maturity, and commitment to the values of our party. Let us continue with that spirit as we implement the resolutions that were passed, as discipline is the backbone of organisational success,” she noted.
Politburo Member Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi urged party members to seize the opportunities created by the government and the ruling party, particularly through effective land utilisation to boost food security and support national development.
“The party is creating numerous opportunities for its members, especially in agriculture and land reform. What we must do now is utilise the land productively. Every piece of land must contribute to our food security and national development. If we are organised and committed, we will unlock value and strengthen our communities,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) session ended on a high note after Dr Tagwirei pledged US$100 000 towards the rehabilitation of Banket Hospital, a gesture that was warmly welcomed by the provincial leadership.
