THE Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ), through its philanthropic arm, the Commander Air Force of Zimbabwe Charity Fund, has pledged to intensify its humanitarian efforts aimed at improving the lives of underserved communities across the country.
This was revealed during the AFZ Charity Horse Race and Family Day event held in Harare on Saturday, where Commander AFZ, Air Marshal Jacob John Nzvede, said the organisation remains committed to supporting government’s Vision 2030 through initiatives that leave no one and no place behind.
“Every year, we hold this event to raise funds that go towards constructing clinics and schools. These projects directly benefit communities in need and align with the government’s thrust for inclusive development,” he said.
Guest of honour Mr Kozanayi Mangezi also confirmed that resources have already been secured for ongoing projects.
“The Charity Fund is committed to constructing an Administration Block and a Science Laboratory. Resources were mobilised to first construct the Administration Block, and I am happy to report that construction will be complete by January 2027. It is anticipated that on completion of the block, the school will be registered as an examination centre. The next challenge is to mobilise resources for the construction of the laboratory,” he noted.
Beyond infrastructure development, the charity fund is also supporting people with special needs through the provision of assistive devices, reaffirming its commitment to inclusivity.
