HIGHLANDERS beat Scottland 2–1 on penalties at Barbourfields Stadium this Sunday to set up a Chibuku Super Cup semi-final battle with rivals Dynamos.

Domestic football is set to witness another high-octane ‘Battle of Zimbabwe’ clash this season after the two fading giants, Highlanders and Dynamos, sealed qualification to the last four this weekend.

While Dynamos had sealed its fate this Saturday, Sunday was Bosso’s chance to make the last four, and they did so by knocking out ambitious new boys Scottland in the dreaded penalty shootout.

The Bulawayo giants staged a remarkable comeback to force a 2-all draw before the tie was settled from the penalty spot.

Scottland got off to a flying start, with Kingsley Mureremba scoring a wonder strike in the 7th minute before Khama Billiat doubled the lead in the 33rd minute.

Pieter de Jongh’s Highlanders, however, responded with discipline as Learnmore Muyambo pulled one back in the 36th minute, and in the dying moments of the match, Andrew Mbeba made a solo run and slotted home the equaliser in the 90th minute.

Elsewhere at Gibbo Stadium, MWOS made light work of Bikita Minerals with a commanding 3–1 victory.

Clive Kwangwari opened the scoring in just the 5th minute, before Arthur Banda added a second in the 69th.

Tadiwanashe Murasiranwa briefly gave Bikita Minerals hope in the 73rd minute with a well-taken goal, but Wilson Mensah sealed the win for MWOS with a beautiful free kick in the 75th minute.

MWOS will now play Triangle United in another semi-final match.
