PREPARATIONS for the 18th edition of the Sanganai / Hlanganani / Kumbanai 2025 Tourism Expo are well on course, with over 300 companies and six countries having already confirmed their participation.
With momentum building ahead of the event, which is set to take place next month in Mutare, Manicaland Province, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) says preparations are in full swing.
To date, 319 companies have confirmed participation in this year’s edition of the prestigious tourism showcase, against a target of 450 exhibitors.
In 2024, 408 companies took part in the expo.
This year, six countries have confirmed their participation, including Ghana, Indonesia, Botswana, South Africa, Namibia, and Malawi.
“Overall, preparations for Sanganai / Hlanganani / Kumbanai 2025 are progressing well. The venue is currently under construction, and the hospitality industry in Manicaland is ready to capitalise on this prestigious event,” ZTA Acting Chief Executive, Mr William Stima said.
The Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe (HAZ) describes the expo as a premier event, placing it in the league of major global tourism expos such as ITB Berlin, Durban Indaba, WTM Cape Town, and WTM London.
“It is one of the key platforms for us to showcase Zimbabwe’s wildlife, people, culture, heritage, and gastronomy. It truly reflects the essence of who we are as a nation. We are therefore encouraging all our members to attend,” Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe, Vice President, Mrs Emmah Kativu noted.
The annual expo continues to position Zimbabwe as a critical player in both regional and international tourism marketing and promotion.
In addition to the main exhibition, this year’s event will feature value-added side events such as the Tourism Investment Forum and the Tourism Scholastica Conference, which have further attracted local and international interest.
