HERENTALS Queens, Zimbabwe’s representatives in the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifier, are leaving nothing to chance in a bid to win the tournament scheduled for Johannesburg, South Africa, later this month.
After narrowly falling in the semi-finals last year, the Students are eager to pick up from where they left off and return home with the prestigious trophy.
With their sights set on the trophy, Herentals Queens are ready to take on the best teams in the region and make their mark at the regional tournament which is acting as CAF Women’s Champions League qualifier.
“We’re determined to do our best and claim the trophy, we are preparing well, and we’re not underrating any team. Each team is a champion in their own league, and we’ll need to be at our best to succeed,” said Herentals Queens head coach, Simbarashe Dedza.
Herentals Queens have been drawn in Group C of the CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers, alongside Costa do Sol of Mozambique and Olympic de Moroni of Comoros.
In preparation for the regional tournament, Herentals Queens have acquired the services of Faith Drive Queens Academy stars Bethel Kondo and Polite Dzuremba on loan for the rest of the season.
