BULAWAYO giants, Highlanders FC, are seeking redemption in their away clash against Kwekwe United set for Bata Stadium this Sunday.
The Bosso side which last registered a victory on the road against Manica Diamonds, has struggled to collect maximum points in recent matches.
A stalemate in the city derby against Chicken Inn and a shock home defeat to league newcomers MWOS have left the team eager to return to winning ways.
This weekend’s encounter pits the title hopefuls against relegation-threatened Kwekwe United in what promises to be a classic David versus Goliath clash.
Interim coach Try Ncube expressed confidence in his charges, despite acknowledging challenges in the forward line and a few injuries in camp.
“The preparations are going well so far. We have three injuries at the moment, our goalkeeper is still unwell, as is Mafiyosi Chiwete, and Marvin is not so well,” Ncube said.
“We take one game at a time, and the one in front of us now is Kwekwe United away. We cannot dwell on the past. We are going there, trying hard to get a result, and we cannot count on points before playing. The idea is to maintain the same attitude.
“Hopefully the boys will come to the party and try to get the goals that have been eluding us. Our handicap has been the forward line. Maybe if we can get one or two forwards, we could be a bit more creative and add some spark.”
In the first leg, Highlanders netted four goals against the Kwekwe-based side and will be looking to replicate that dominant performance.
