THE Zimbabwe Netball Association (ZINA)’s president Leticia Chipandu has been suspended by the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC).
In a statement, the SRC said the suspension is in terms of the SRC Act.
Chipandu has been facing several allegations before her suspension, chief among them disregarding the ZINA constitution, maladministration and fuelling divisions within the sport.
As it stands, the country’s top teams are divided into three top-flight leagues the Rainbow League, Premier Netball League and TNL.
Over the years, players and officials have been calling on the SRC to act and recently wrote a petition that prompted the sports’ governing body to act and conducted an all-stakeholders meeting last month.
Leticia Chipandu has been at the helm of netball in the country since 2002.
