THE ruling ZANU PF party is continuing to advance its thrust to support the vulnerable members of the community through food relief and empowerment programmes.
Dangamvura and Chikanga constituencies are the latest to benefit, with vulnerable members of the community receiving food for daily consumption including rice and flour as well as chicks and stock feed for projects.
Residents of Gimboki and Mahalape commended President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the local leadership for the support which also includes the sinking of boreholes in their residential areas.
“We are excited that the support that previously targeted rural communities is also being accessed by urban communities. The distribution here in Gimboki has been done fairly targeting everyone,” a community member said.
The ZANU PF local leadership spoke on the resolve by the ruling party to advance economic empowerment and food relief programmes, revealing that the donation of rice is part of a consignment given to all constituencies by President Mnangagwa in line with the policy of inclusivity.
“We want to thank the President for supporting his people all the time. Today, we covered Gimboki in Dangamvura and at the moment, we are at Mahalape where we are giving people rice from President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Both areas have also benefited from boreholes drilled under the Presidential Borehole Sinking Programme. We want to thank the President for promoting development across the country and our First Lady for championing support to the vulnerable members of the community including persons with disabilities,” ZANU PF Central Committee member Honourable Getrude Mutandi stated.
Meanwhile, the local ZANU PF leadership says the party’s election manifesto and inspiration from the First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa is also the guiding campus and inspiration to support vulnerable members of the community as directed by President Mnangagwa’s policy of leaving no place and no one behind.
