A robust trade relationship, coupled with collaborative industrialisation efforts, between Zimbabwe and Mozambique are set to leapfrog the two nations towards greater prosperity and a more integrated regional economy.
The economic ties that bind the two nations together date back to the Munhumutapa kingdom where Mozambique stood as one of Zimbabwe’s key trading partners, a relationship rooted in centuries of exchange along vital corridors like Beira and Maputo.
Speaking during the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Awards presented by the President of Mozambique, Cde Daniel Chapo in Bulawayo this Friday, the Minister of Industry and Commerce Honourable Mangaliso Ndlovu emphasised the pivotal role of trade in solidifying the relationship between the two sister republics.
“The trade relationship between Zimbabwe and Mozambique is backdated during the Munhumutapa and the flow of goods and people between the two sister countries continues to grow. Trade relations should be used as a cornerstone to shape future business relations,” he said.
Some of the companies and institutions that scooped Golden Awards include the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the National University of Science and Technology, Dinson Iron and Steel Company and Econet Wireless.
The British Embassy scooped the Supreme International Exhibitor Award while the People’s Republic of China and Belarus were also part of the winners.
