PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is back home from Uganda where he attended the 11th Session of the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development.

The SADC Chairperson touched down at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare this Wednesday and was received by the two Vice Presidents; General (Retired) Dr Constantino Chiwenga and Colonel (Retired) Kembo Mohadi, service chiefs and senior government officials.

President Mnangagwa said the forum provided insight into the aspirations of regional blocs in the sustainable growth of Africa.

“We are happy that it was a robust debate and that both the SADC and the EAC were all represented in terms of respective countries from those two regions and we resolved to pursue more goals. I would like to say that we are working hard and we were able to discuss issues facing our two regions. We are happy with the cooperation that exists, especially between the two heads, President Yoweri Museveni and myself.”

The meeting, among other things, reviewed progress, challenges, and opportunities in the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063 of the African Union.

It also sought to strengthen learning and advocate for effective policy measures and evidence-based solutions to advance the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at regional and global levels.
