ZIMBABWE and Russia are actively exploring avenues for further collaboration in various sectors.
In continued efforts to solidify bilateral relations, the Russian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Nikolai Krasilnikov, met with Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Professor Amon Murwira, this Thursday.
The meeting focused on expanding cooperation between the two nations, both bilaterally and multilaterally, across a range of development initiatives, highlighting ongoing exchanges of ideas and joint efforts aimed at fostering stronger ties and shared growth between the two countries.
“Today I had the privilege to discuss with the Honourable Minister Murwira on our bilateral cooperation and coordination efforts in the international arena,” Ambassador Krasilnikov said.
“A high-level delegation of several cabinet ministers visited Russia to exchange knowledge in their respective areas and to gain first-hand knowledge for their Russian counterparts and in relation to the Mbare Musika rehabilitation as part of our various MOUs. This year also culminates the conclusion of our MOU in health and we have seen the support of Russian doctors coming to Zimbabwe in fighting cholera,” he said.
According to the Russian Ambassador, the two deliberated on the state of relations between Russia and the United States of America since the coming into office by President Donald Trump.
This comes after a successful high-level visit by several Zimbabwean Cabinet ministers to the Russian Federation, with particular attention given to the rehabilitation of Mbare Musika.
