Meanwhile, President Mnangagwa has also promoted 23 Zimbabwe National Army Lieutenant Colonels to the rank of Colonels.

The conferment of badges of ranks for the promoted officers was done at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks in Harare this Monday.

“The organisation has expectations, your families have expectations too. It is possible to satisfy both. Do not hesitate to seek advice from your immediate superiors and also from senior colonels who have come before you.

“Your subordinates are also a great source of knowledge, and you should make use of this resource as you execute your duties in your new appointments. More will be expected from you by both your superiors and subordinates.

“Be the new brooms that will add a breath of fresh air to the organisation and strive to leave an indelible mark in whatever task you perform in your new appointment. As you navigate your journey in your new rank and appointment, remember that whatever you are doing reflects on you, the ZNA, and the country. There must be growth visible on you as an individual, growth in the organisation providing space for a tranquil environment that allows peace and development in the country,” Chief of Staff Quarter Master Staff of the Zimbabwe National Army, Major General Simo Maseko said.

The newly promoted officers applauded the ZDF command element for showing confidence in them.

“As a medical specialist, I will continue to work hard and make sure that our soldiers are treated so that they work for the nation. We do not treat soldiers only, but remember we have ZDF community assistance week where we offer our services to the nation,” Specialist physician and nephrologist, Colonel Onismas Madzudzo said.

“I will continue working hard for the benefit of the nation. I also want to take this opportunity to thank His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa for showing confidence in us,” Deputy Registrar Academic, ZNDU, Colonel Gertrude Manyimo noted.

“We want to thank His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa for showing confidence in us. We are going to continue to be loyal to the nation,” newly promoted officer ZNA, Colonel Cletus Maregere, added.
