ZIMBABWE Ambassador-designate to Russia, Ambassador Mark Grey Marongwe, paid a farewell courtesy call on His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House in Harare.
Ambassador Marongwe served as Zimbabwe’s High Commissioner to Mozambique in 1999 before he moved to the Democratic Republic of Congo as Ambassador in 2002.
In 2007, he was appointed Zimbabwe Ambassador to Kuwait.
He also served as the Director of Regional Cooperation and Continental Intergration in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
In 2019, he was appointed as permanent secretary in the Ministry of Defence and War Veterans Affairs, until his retirement in 2022.
“The duty of the Ambassador is to ensure that there are good relations between the sending country and the receiving country. The Russian Federation is one of our strong allies in global affairs so I feel honoured to be appointed to serve Zimbabwe in the capacity of Ambassador,” said Ambassador Marongwe
