The trial of fugitive murder suspect, Peter Dube is set to be handled by the Midlands Province High Court this Monday after the accused was passed fit to stand trial.
Dube’s trial was off to a false start after he exhibited mental challenges, but the National Prosecution Authority applied for physiological evaluation which later confirmed the suspect was mentally fit to stand trial.
A former car dealer who was based in Gweru, Dube is accused of murder after allegedly killing two people in a suspected love triangle.
The victims include his second wife’s alleged lover, Shelton Chiduku and her best friend, Gamuchirai Mudungwe.
Two other victims of the shooting incident, his wife Nyasha and her sister, Nyaradzo, survived the attack.
Meanwhile, 102 murder cases have been dealt with during the ongoing Midlands Province High Court circuit which is sitting in Gweru and Gokwe.
