In an event held in Vladivostok, Russia, the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) National Chairperson and Minister of Defence, Honourable Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, delivered an impassioned speech emphasising the importance of unity and cooperation among nations through the BRICS and Partner Countries alliance.
She highlighted the alliance’s commitment to inclusive economic growth and innovative development.
“With the wise leadership of President Vladimir Putin, BRICS will continue advancing a new economic world order that fosters mutual respect, common progress, and prosperity,” she said.
The Minister then addressed the challenges faced by developing countries, particularly the abuse of the USD currency by the United States advocating for a more balanced global monetary system.
“This paradigm shift offers BRICS an alternative to adopt its own currency, competing with the USD and circumventing financial restrictions stifling economic growth,” she added.
Highlighted within her speech was the vision of BRICS steering the world towards a multipolar future, challenging the dominance of Western powers.
“Zimbabwe stands ready to join this progressive alliance, fostering an environment conducive to free trade and global cooperation,” said the Minister.
She also expressed her gratitude to the leadership of BRICS for restructuring global economic power and fostering unity among nations.
“We are hopeful that BRICS will serve as a focal point for global discussions on economic development, trade, investment, and lasting peace,” she said.
Through alliances like BRICS, the world moves closer to a future where nations work together harmoniously, transcending boundaries for the collective advancement and well-being of all.
