THE city of Bulawayo is set to come alive as the second edition of the Miss Plus You Beauty Pageant takes centre stage at the Nesbit Castle on Saturday.
Organisers have revealed that a total of 15 plus-size women will compete for the title at this year’s edition.
Miss Plus You Organiser, Ms Nomagugu Ndlovu said, “This pageant aims to instil confidence in plus size women because they tend to be body shamed a lot. We want them to embrace their bodies.”
This year’s edition has been spiced up by a new category, the People’s Choice crown.
“This year we have introduced the people’s choice crown. This will be taken by the person who will get the most number of votes on the online voting platform we have set up,” she said.
Four plus-size ladies will walk away with prizes in categories which include the Miss Plus You Queen, the first and second princess as well as the Miss Plus You People’s Choice crown.
