THE Second Republic’s open for business mantra continues to attract direct foreign investment with a South Africa-based firm opening a new branch in Gweru in a milestone set to improve the Midlands Provincial Gross Domestic Product.
The opening of a new branch by Tiger Wheels and Tyres makes it the ninth outlet in the country.
The branch, which was set up at a cost of US$250 000, has since provided employment to locals with the firm set to open more branches across the country.
“Creating safety and protecting your vehicles is part of our duty. A vehicle is more than just a property but a special cog in our day to day lives. We are happy to be operating in Zimbabwe as the environment is quite conducive for us. We wish to open more branches in other places,” said Tiger wheels and tyres managing director, Mr Rishi Magecha.
Government says it will continue to open space for business to thrive in line with the National Development Strategy One.
“Guided by Vision 2030, government is focused on promoting a sound business environment for all potential investors as well as the aspirations of people of Zimbabwe towards job creation and improved living standards,” noted Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honorable Owen Ncube.
