FOOTBAL fans in Harare are excited about the return of domestic football to the National Sports Stadium, which will host the Harare Derby between old foes Dynamos and CAPS United on Sunday.
The Harare derby featuring Dynamos and CAPS United at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday will signal the return of topflight football to the capital after the football venue was closed two months ago for renovations.
The move has been met with excitement by football fans from Harare who had been starved of topflight football for a couple of months.
“We are very happy, it means a lot to us because we missed our teams,” said a football fan.
“Tanga tisina Mari yeku enda ku Barbourfields, inini ma home matches ese eDembare ndakamawona mu National Sports but payakaenda ku Bulawayo handina kana 1 randakawona,” said another fan
Another said, “Bhora adzoka nguva yakanaka tiri kugara zvikuru and hope tichanakidzwa.”
“This is good news for us because we can now easily follow our teams,” said a fan.
The grand opening is also expected to be an exhibit of the best in local football if the Harare derby lives up to its billing.
In line with the big match, euphoria gate charges have been hiked to US$5five for the rest of the ground tickets.
