THE tourism industry is experiencing unprecedented growth, with over US$60 million worth of accommodation facilities being developed in Victoria Falls.
The resort city is witnessing a surge in investment, with hotels, resorts, and lodges at various stages of construction.
This development is expected to increase the resort city’s room capacity from around 3 000 to approximately 5 000, creating new opportunities for tourists and locals alike.
“Victoria Falls offers a unique blend of natural wonder and African culture. We’re committed to sustainable tourism practices, ensuring our developments benefit the local community. We are developing accommodation facilities that suit various classes of travellers as we endeavour to accommodate all,” said Mr Knowledge Dzimbanhete, a tourism player.
“The tourism industry is growing and more and more visitors are trooping to Victoria Falls and this is exactly what is motivating us to build these accommodation facilities. We are already receiving enquiries which is encouraging,” another player Mr Hamilton Mandizvidza weighed in.
The projects under development include Waterfalls Lodge, Mosi Oa Tunya Reit Hospitality Project, Peniel Retreat Centre, Mopani Lodge Expansion and The Outlook at Victoria Falls.
The tourism boom is also expected to create jobs, increase foreign exchange earnings and enhance infrastructure development.
