PREMIER Soccer League (PSL) debutants, Green Fuel are awaiting PSL approval to host matches at the Chisumbanje Arena after the stadium received a massive facelift.
With a splash green turf, modern gender-inclusive changing rooms and roofed watching stands, Green Fuel Football Club believe Chisumbanje arena is now ready to host Premier Soccer League matches.
This comes at a time when the league debutants have been travelling to Chiredzi’s Gibbo stadium for their home matches.
Green Fuel Public and Community Relations Officer, Merit Rumema is confident the progress made so far will convince the PSL to grant them the greenlight.
“We are now at 90% in terms of construction work. The ground itself is in good shape, we have put walls around the stadium, the changing rooms are good, we have watching stands, and our ablution facilities are almost done. The commentary box is also being constructed so all in all we are almost there, and we hope that PSL will authorise us to use our facility,” said Rumema.
Green Fuel FC head coach, Rodwell Dhlakama is also hoping for the best as his charges have been suffering from fatigue playing all their matches away from home.
He said, “We have been travelling back and forth to matches and obviously under such circumstances our players are having fatigue, so we are just looking forward to playing at home in front of our fans.”
Green Fuel are in a buoyant mood ahead of their encounter against Triangle at Gibbo Stadium this weekend after beating giants Dynamos last weekend.
