Sables finalise squad for Namibia clash

Story by ZBC News Reporter

The Zimbabwe Sables have announced their starting lineup for the highly anticipated Africa Cup semi-final against Namibia.

The match promises to be a thrilling encounter between two of the continent’s top rugby nations.

Dylan Utete will take the field for the Sables in place of the injured Brian “Ghost” Nyaude.

Nyaude was unable to pass mandatory head injury assessments following Zimbabwe’s victory over Uganda.

While losing a key player is undoubtedly a setback, the team remains resolute in their pursuit of a place in the final.

Under the stewardship of Head Coach Pieter Benade, the Sables have been diligently preparing for the formidable challenge posed by Namibia.

The team is unwavering in its determination to secure an Africa Cup title, a feat they have not accomplished since 2012.

Coach Benade expressed his optimism about the team’s chances.

“Every match presents a new opportunity, and while history can provide motivation, we must focus on creating our own legacy. Namibia is a formidable opponent with a strong track record, but we are determined to challenge them and make our nation proud.”

The semi-finals will be a doubleheader at the, Mutesa II Stadium, Wankululunkuku, Kampala, with Kenya facing Algeria in the earlier match.
