PREPARATIONS are in the final stages at Queens Sports Club ahead of next week’s three-match Twenty20 International series between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.

The local organising committee says all systems are in place to ensure Bulawayo successfully hosts another international cricket series, with the teams expected to arrive in the city on Sunday.

Local Organising Committee chairperson, Ms Vumindaba Moyo, expressed confidence in the venue’s readiness.

“We expect some exciting cricket. It has been a while since we last had a T20 series. It’s all systems go. As you know, Bulawayo has been home to Test cricket, and we expect a full house. We are now ready and expect the teams in Bulawayo on Sunday.”

Organisers are also targeting the next generation of cricket supporters by inviting schoolchildren to attend the matches.

“We have made arrangements for the kids to attend and have fun while also enjoying cricket.”

The three-match T20 International series will be played at Queens Sports Club on 15, 17 and 19 July.

Before the teams head to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh will meet in the second One Day International at Harare Sports Club on Thursday, with the Chevrons leading the three-match series 1-0.
