Tsholotsho gets town status

Story by Mhlomuli Ncube

Government has granted Tsholotsho in Matabeleland North Province a town status and started rolling out development projects in line with the resolution.

Tsholotsho Centre is always a hustle and bustle of activity. Many businesses run by its diaspora community continue opening doors.

With utility services fully provided, the government says the place is deserving of town status.

Tsholotsho Rural District Council Chairperson Mr Esau Siwela said, “The town board status is confirmation of our long-held conviction. We know this will create opportunities for us to grow and to see all service delivery taken to a higher level… We are excited by this government stance.”

Tsholotsho has a huge diaspora community that has always been eager to invest in the growth of the area.

One of the diaspora development partners said, “We are bound to see Tsholotsho grow and achieve its full potential.”

“This will take Tsholotsho to another level of growth and avail many business opportunities,” added another.

The development of Tsholotsho and many other areas is a testimony to the Second Republic’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind.
