THE 16th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo kicked off in Bulawayo this Thursday, with players in the tourism sector engaging with the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Honourable Barbra Rwodzi.

In an interview with ZBC News, Honourable Rwodzi said the sector is bound to continue its growth trajectory as the tourism sector targets a five billion economy by 2025.

“The most important message in there was, we rise and fall together as a sector. We want to understand the issues affecting the sector and bridge that gap between the government and the players,” she said.

The expo is expected to open doors for small to medium businesses in the tourism sector as they interact with over 100 buyers.

Participants at this year’s expo have increased to 368 from 275 last year.

According to the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, this year’s expo is celebrating the resilience, dynamism and untapped potential of Zimbabwe as a premier tourism destination.
