BRIGADIER General Retired Victor Rungani, who passed away on Tuesday in Harare after a short illness, has been declared a national hero.
The announcement was officially delivered to the Rungani family this Friday by the Minister of State for National Security in the President’s Office, Senator Lovemore Matuke.
The communication took place at the family’s farm in Goromonzi, where relatives and community members had gathered to mourn the decorated veteran.
The Rungani family expressed profound gratitude to the government for the recognition and honour bestowed upon their loved one.
Further details regarding funeral arrangements and burial are expected to be announced in due course.
