FC PLATINUM will be looking to end their winless run when they host Highlanders at Mandava Stadium on Saturday in one of the standout Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 22 fixtures.
The encounter reunites former Warriors teammates Joel Luphahla and Benjani Mwaruwari, who now face each other as head coaches of FC Platinum and Highlanders respectively.
While both coaches favour attacking football, FC Platinum have struggled in front of goal and are without a win in their last five league matches. Highlanders, meanwhile, arrive in good form.
Luphahla acknowledged his side’s poor conversion rate but remains confident of a positive result.
“Yes, they have done so well to be where they are, but certainly we are not intimidated. We will do our best to get a result. I know we have not been scoring enough in our previous games, but I urge our fans to be patient and trust the process. Benjani is a good coach, and I have a lot of respect for him, but on Saturday it’s a different story. We want to win in front of our fans, and that will boost our morale,” he said.
FC Platinum will also be hoping new signings Vitapi Ngaruka and Baraka Majogoro receive clearance in time to feature against Highlanders.
