PREPARATIONS for the ZANU PF National Cell Day have gathered momentum in Mashonaland West Province, with party members being urged to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and consolidate structures at cell level ahead of the commemorations on 27 June.
The annual event is expected to draw participation from districts, branches and cells across the province as the ruling party intensifies efforts to reinforce its grassroots base.
Addressing a Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting in Chinhoyi this Saturday, ZANU PF Mashonaland West Provincial Chairperson, Cde Mary Mliswa-Chikoka, described party cells as the foundation of the organisation and critical to its continued growth and effectiveness.
“We are now preparing for National Cell Day, which will be held on 27 June. I urge all our districts, branches and cells to participate fully because the strength of the party begins at cell level.
“Let us continue engaging communities, recruiting members and promoting programmes that improve people’s livelihoods,” she said.
Cde Mliswa-Chikoka also commended the province for its support of Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill, saying it reflected unity and confidence in the party’s vision.
She further briefed members on progress towards hosting the 23rd National People’s Conference, noting that various committees were working to ensure the successful staging of the event.
“We applaud our province for standing firmly behind Constitutional Amendment No. 3. As we move towards hosting the 23rd National People’s Conference, preparations are progressing well and we remain confident that Mashonaland West will deliver a successful conference that reflects our organisational capacity and commitment,” she said.
National Cell Day will now be commemorated annually on the last weekend of June as the party seeks to strengthen grassroots structures, deepen community engagement and enhance its connection with citizens across the country.
