Hardrock face tough Ngezi Platinum test in Matchday Eight clash

SECOND-placed Hardrock FC face a stern test against former champions Ngezi Platinum Stars in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday Eight encounter at Baobab Stadium on Sunday.

The fixture headlines one of the weekend’s high-stakes clashes, with both sides targeting maximum points in a tightly contested race at the top of the table.

The newcomers have been one of the standout performers this season, collecting five wins from seven matches to sit level on 16 points with log leaders, CAPS United.

Former champions Ngezi Platinum Stars are also enjoying a strong start to the campaign, remaining unbeaten with four wins and three draws to occupy fourth position on 15 points.

Matchday Eight roars into life on Independence Day this Saturday when Herentals FC host FC Hunters at Rufaro Stadium.

Other fixtures have been moved to midweek following Independence celebrations, with defending champions Scottland FC taking on Dynamos FC at Rufaro Stadium, while Chicken Inn FC host Highlanders FC at Barbourfields Stadium next Wednesday.

On the same day, ZPC Kariba face Bulawayo Chiefs at Nyamhunga Stadium.
