THE Chevrons have secured top spot in Group B after thumping Tanzania by 113 runs in their last pool match at the ongoing T20 World Cup, Africa Qualifier, at Harare Sports Club.
Enterprising opener Brian Bennett once again led from the front after scoring his maiden T20i century and was ably supported by fellow opener Tadiwanashe Marumani, who scored 49 runs.
Bennett joined Brendan Taylor and Sikander Raza as the only Zimbabweans to score a century in all three formats.
The Chevrons put up a commanding 225/ 5 while dismissing Tanzania for 108 to match for the semi-finals as group winners.
Zimbabwe will know their last four opponents after this Tuesday’s afternoon matches.
