ZANU PF’S endeavor to create rural economies is on course, with the party’s women’s league wing establishing a pouty incubation hub at Joshua Nkomo Polytechnic College in Gwanda.
After a successful empowerment project at Guyu Vocational Training Centre in Gwanda which saw young girls and women benefiting a sewing factory last year, the ZANU PF Women’s League has once again commissioned an incubator at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Polytechnic targeted at supporting ongoing poultry projects in Matabeleland South province.
The party’s Secretary for Women’s Affairs Cde Mabel Chinomona called on women to support the national vision of an upper middle-income society by 2030.
“We procured these incubators so that we empower women, we don’t want anyone to be left behind, let us all rally behind these projects so that we support our President’s vision of an upper middle-income society. We gave you poultry projects and some of you let them die, we should not be doing that. We are happy that the minister of state is already spearheading poultry projects in the province,” she said.
The ZANU PF Women’s League in Matabeleland South is appreciative of the empowerment drive being spearheaded by the ruling party.
“We are going to support this project because we believe in vision 2030. We want to promise you that this project is going to transform lives,” ZANU PF Women’s League Matabeleland South Provincial Chairperson, Cde Sindisiwe Nleya said.
“As Matabeleland South, we are going to do our best, we are so grateful that you always remember us and this is the 4th time she has brought empowerment projects and we are going to make use of it,” ZANU PF Women’s League Secretary for Legal Affairs, Cde Cecilia Ndubiwa said.
Government is on a drive to transform once marginalised communities through empowerment projects.
“You brought an important project, in my constituency I started the poultry project for women a long time ago and now it has transformed lives now we are working on making sure that it spreads throughout the province. As government we are in support of the project,” Matabeleland South Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Albert Nguluvhe said.
The ZANU PF-led government has spearheaded various empowerment projects in Matabeleland South, with provision of portable water, irrigation schemes and nutrition gardens already transforming lives.
