PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is today expected to join other world leaders in commemorating the 80th anniversary of Russia’s Victory Day, an occasion marking the defeat of Nazi Germany in the Second World War.
Observed annually on May 9, Russia’s Victory Day is commemorated with military parades, wreath-laying ceremonies, cultural displays, and tributes to fallen soldiers and war veterans.
President Mnangagwa’s attendance at this year’s celebrations further reinforces Zimbabwe’s longstanding diplomatic and economic relations with Russia.
