THE Warriors camp has been rocked by injuries ahead of Zimbabwe’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Namibia in Johannesburg this Thursday.
Zimbabwe will be without forwards Tinotenda Kadewere and Tawanda Chirewa, while defender Munashe Garan’anga is a fitness doubt after picking up an ankle injury.
Douglas Mapfumo and Terrence Dzukamanja have since been called in as replacements.
“I am happy to be back, it’s an honour to play for your country and I am ready to prove my worth,” said Dzukamanja.
Head coach Micheal Nees is, however, not making any excuses.
He said, “Injuries are part of the game and we would have loved to have everyone. Tino Kadewere was missing again the last match then Chirewa wanted to prove a point after the challenges we had last time, but am sure we are strong enough.”
Meanwhile, the Namibia Football Association has revealed that financial challenges forced them to host Zimbabwe behind closed doors.
Their previous match against Kenya was also played in an empty Orlando Stadium.
