Zimbabwe and Nicaragua strengthen ties

Story by John Nhandara

ZIMBABWE and Nicaragua are exploring more areas of cooperation, with agriculture and mining high on the agenda.

This emerged when Nicaragua’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Ms Nadeska Cuthbert paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Advocate Jacob Mudenda at Parliament Building in Mt Hampden this Tuesday.

“We are sharing struggles and how Zimbabwe and Nicaragua can collaborate for the development of our nations and our people. Nicaragua and Zimbabwe share a lot in common in the areas of agriculture, tourism and mining.

“We can learn from each other. We are both developing countries and can learn from each other. We have a roadmap on how we can develop ourselves and share technology. Both countries are open for investment,” said Ms Cuthbert.

In July this year, Vice President General Retired Dr Constantino Chiwenga attended the 45th anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution in Nicaragua, where he also reflected on the deep bilateral and economic relations between the two countries.
