2024 Harare Derby part 2 set for this Sunday

THE Harare derby featuring giants Dynamos and CAPS United headlines Premier Soccer League match-day 29 this weekend.

The latest edition of the Harare derby is somewhat lukewarm as CAPS United and Dynamos are out of the title race.

It is, however, a fact that Dynamos and CAPS United do not care about what is happening around them – as the Derby comes with the City’s bragging rights.

With the reverse fixture played in May ending in a one-all stalemate, there is all to play for at Rufaro Stadium this Sunday.

The two giants will be hoping to end the season on high with Dynamos looking for a top-four finish, while CAPS United have similar ambitions.

Even though Dynamos and CAPS United have failed to set the league alight in recent times, a derby is still a derby and come Sunday, Harare will be divided into Blue or Green.

While DeMbare and Makepekepe will be battling for the Capital honours, other teams have their eyes on different ambitions.

On Saturday, Green Fuel will be seeking to boost their survival chances when they take on neighbours Manica Diamonds in Chisumbanje, relegation-threatened TelOne face title-chasing Ngezi Platinum Stars, while Yadah host troubled Arenel Movers at the Heart Stadium.

Log leaders, Simba Bhora host unpredictable Chicken Inn at Wadzanayi stadium, while relegation-haunted Bulawayo Chiefs and Herentals conclude the day’s action.

Sunday sees third-from-bottom Hwange facing title contenders FC Platinum at the Colliery, while Chegutu Pirates tackle Bikita Minerals at Baobab stadium.
