ZANU PF Harare Province has mobilised its members to attend Heroes and Defence Forces Day Commemorations, with 60 buses set aside to ferry people to the national event.
The ZANU-PF Harare Province Leaders gathered at the party’s provincial headquarters ahead of this year’s Heroes and Defence Forces Day commemorations set for Monday and Tuesday.
The ruling party’s leadership paid tribute to Zimbabwe’s gallant sons and daughters, both living and departed, for their sacrifices in liberating the country from colonial rule.
“This time, we are saying let’s attend the Heroes and Defence Forces commemorations in numbers. We want to honour the gallant sons and daughters of the soil for their sacrifices. As Harare Province, we are lucky that the main event is taking place here.
“We will ensure all resources are available for you. As Harare Province, we are grateful to His Excellency, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, for transforming Harare. This year, we have achieved a high record in tobacco, and also roads are being constructed here in Harare,” ZANU PF Harare Province Chairperson, Cde Goodwills Masimirembwa said.
The Party leadership also emphasised the importance of mobilising grassroots structures to ensure high attendance.
“We are expecting more than 12 000 district officials to attend,” ZANU PF Harare Provincial Political Commissar, Cde Voyage Dambuza noted.
“The Heroes and Defence Forces holidays are important to us because this is the time we honour Heroes and heroines who sacrificed for us,” ZANU-PF Deputy Secretary for Security, Cde Tendai Chirau added.
The meeting also created a platform for the provincial leaders to focus on expectations for the forthcoming ZANU-PF Annual Conference set for Mutare in October.
