President Ruto to officially open ZITF

Kenyan President Dr William Ruto has arrived in the country for a two-day state visit, which will also see him officially opening the ongoing Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo.

His Excellency Dr William Ruto arrived at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport in Bulawayo this afternoon and he was received by his counterpart, President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Upon his arrival, President Ruto was welcomed by a 21-gun salute as is the tradition when foreign heads of state visit.

President Ruto inspected a guard of honour before he was introduced to various government officials by President Mnangagwa.

Thousands of people gathered at the airport to welcome President Ruto and President Mnangagwa briefly addressed the crowd, highlighting the strong ties between Kenya and Zimbabwe.

“Zimbabwe and Kenya, we are one, there are Zimbabweans who used to reside in Kenya and they were given citizenship so this shows that we are one, my brother will officially open the ZITF tomorrow that’s when he will speak.”

A State Banquet will be hosted for President Ruto this evening at the state house, but before that, the two Presidents will be furnished with details of the joint commission which met in Harare,”

Zimbabwe and Kenya continue to foster relations in various sectors of the economy.
