Old Hararians thrash Harare Sports Club in the Paramount Garments U-20 Rugby League

Story by Lawrence Trusida, Sports Editor

THE Paramount Garments Under-20 Rugby League continued on National Youth Day, with Old Hararians asserting their title credentials after beating Harare Sports Club 34-6 in the peak of the matches played at Old Hararians Sports Club.

Old Hararians continued with their fine start to the season after getting the better of bitter rivals Harare Sports Club in a one-sided affair.

The match was largely expected to be a close contest given the rivalry between the two clubs and their past results but it was not to be.

Old Hararians took the opportunity to ascertain their title ambitions after dismantling Harare Sports Club.

They scored six unanswered tries converting two of them while Spirtivo failed to cross the try line only managing to slot two penalties.

The victory means Old Hararians and Pitbulls are the two undefeated teams in the league heading into their weekend clash.

Log leaders Pitbulls earlier on pummeled 54 points past a hapless Northern Chiefs who only managed to score 14 points.

In other results, Old Georgians walked over Zimbiru 60-0, while FS Raiders beat Horns 66-11.

The league continues next weekend with a top-of-the-table clash between unbeaten sides Pitbulls and Old Hararians.
