ZIMBABWEAN martial arts champion, Wilfred Mashaya scooped gold at the International BG Karate Championships held in Bangladesh this Friday.
The Zim Ninja represented Zimbabwe in the senior men freestyle weapon category and as usual, the karate champion did not disappoint, clinching gold in a foreign land.
Speaking after a podium finish, Mashaya was on cloud nine.
“I participated in the International BG Karate Championships held in Bangladesh from the 28th to the 29th of December. I managed to scoop gold in the Senior Men’s Weapon category for the first time. I was awarded a gold medal and a trophy and on top of that I was honoured with a trophy inscribed with my name for my hard work, dedication and commitment to developing martial arts around the world.
The tournament had more karate categories accommodating the seniors, juniors and cadets.
The Zimbabwean ninja is expected back home this Sunday afternoon.
