DeMbare to compete for honours

Story by Innocent Nxumalo

HARARE giants Dynamos Football Club have vowed to compete for honours in the 2023 premiership season, with the technical bench satisfied with their preseason preparations.

With the premiership title having eluded them for nine years, the Harare-based giants are ready to launch an offensive campaign in the looming 2023 PSL season set to kick-off on the 18th of this month.

DeMbare head coach Herbert Maruwa, who took his squad for a pre-season camp in Beitbridge, promised Chazunguza fans a silverware laden campaign after watching his charges dismiss Division One side Dulivhadzimu United in the scotching Beitbridge heat.

“This time around we want to challenge the dominance of FC Platinum and Chicken Inn. The boys are working very hard and our squad is building up,” he said.

Maruwa also hinted on his 2023 strategy, emphasising that he expects players to improve on teamwork to earn a position in the first team.

“Of cause we have new editions to the squad and we are happy to have them. But for us what matters is to build an invisible team that does not rely on an individual, and players have to understand that,” he added.

Dynamos ended last season on third position behind Chicken Inn and reigning champions FC Platinum.
