THE Chevrons are entering the final phase of preparations for the World Cup Qualifiers, with the team set to take on Pakistan ‘A’ in two Four Day matches and six One Dayers.

The 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifiers will be held at Harare Sports Club and Queens Sports Club from the 18th of June to the 9th of July.

The top two teams from the tournament will join eight others that have already qualified for the global showpiece set for India in November.

Zimbabwe are set to take on visiting Pakistan ‘A’ side in their final preparations with Zim ‘A’ head coach Stuart Matsikenyere, who is also national team assistant coach, expecting fierce competition.

“We are really excited to be hosting Pakistan A side, the Pakistanis have always been good to us and every time they send in a very strong squad and this will give us good preparations ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers we have a young side and this will be good preparations,” said Matsikenyere.

The first Four Dayer is set for Kwekwe Sports Club from the 3rd to the 6th of this month, while the second Four Dayer will be at Mutare Sports Club.

All the Six One Dayers will be at Harare Sports Club, save for the first one that will be played at Takashinga Cricket Club.
